I know I've fallen down on the countdown, BUT I really can't put all my business out there for the world to know...plus, I've fallen asleep...turning 30 you start to head to bed with the chickens.
One thing I've done since my last post is cook!!! I know! I know!! It was so exciting...I love the mess it makes and how you get to clean it up!! I heart cooking!!!
As the big day of turning 30 edges nearer, I'm coming to accept that it's just two numbers...it doesn't really mean I'm another year older, another year being single, another year older, or another year being single...oh did I repeat myself...it's just two numbers!! I act like I'm 15...half my age...maybe I can relive those years over again like the ABC Family movie...12 Dates of Christmas...she experiences Christmas eve over and over for 12 days....or maybe 13 going on 30...that's more like it!!! Bring on the hot guy!!!

6 days left
So it was Friday...the door decorating contest was turning into a heated hot mess...but I had only one thought on my mind...the tacky Christmas sweater that awaited me at home. It was going to make its debut later that night and I couldn't be more excited. All day I daydreamed about what I could add to make it even more tackier than it already was, should I add paint, glitter, gift bows...I was at a loss. School was finally over and I rushed home, but not too quickly because I had left my purse at home and didn't have my identification. Upon arriving at home I found my tacky sweater laid out on my dining room table just like I had left it the night before. It looked so plain, and quasi tacky...my mind raced because I only had two hours before the unveiling and I had to get in a nap! I didn't have time to add lights or paint, so I didn't the next best thing...garland!! I cut some green garland into strips, glued it on, and prayed that it would stay on...just for a little while. When I awoke from my slumber, I checked out the monstrosity that was lying in wait...tacky homemade Christmas sweater was a success!! I put on my Christmas stocking turtle neck, grabbed the sweater and left. I'm sure you're wondering why I didn't put it on, but I thought I was going to have to go into public and I was NOT about to have that thing on...they might have had me committed!!!

8-7 days
So nothing exciting has happened. I did have a student tell me today that I had coffee breath...I wanted to say what's your excuse for bad breath?!? I also only have one day left for the door decorating. I have up an outline of a body taped to my door, and this morning I was walking toward the door, turned off the lights and then almost peed oneself because I thought someone was staring in my door, BUT it was just an outline of a head. Yes I'm a nerd, but I felt better when students got scared all day. I'm turning into a 7th grader.

10 DAYS
Boy was today a doozy! I didn't go teach the future of America today, but instead took a field trip to our admin building to collaborate with fellow science teachers...science teachers of the world unite!! We laughed and cried while we analyzed TEKS and made benchmarks. Then came the fateful lunch...
Picture it...6 grown women travel down I-35 to a small Chinese eatery we'll call Chopsticks...that's actually it's name. We walk in, survey the place, there are about 10-15 tables with about 7 people sitting around. We order, get our drinks and find a seat, which was tough since it was overly crowded...NOT! Our food arrives and we dig in to our sweet and sour chicken..all complaining how hot it was, when all of a sudden this lady walks in the door. She looks over at our table and smiles like she knows who we are, by the way she had crazy eyes, should have been a sign. We continue eating when all of a sudden we hear her saying, "I WANT A SMALL FRIED RICE!" The lady employee said,"ok we have chicken or pork" The customer says, "I WANT A SMALL FRIED RICE!" The lady employee said,"ok we have chicken or pork" The customer then says, "F you! I WANT A SMALL FRIED RICE! F you! It's not that hard! I always have problems when I come here! F you!" the employee finally gets her some fried rice and as she is leaving she looks back at our table and smiles as she walks out the door. I looked at the employee thinking we might be on that show What would you do...I was half expecting John stoessel to appear, but he didn't...the employee looked at md and smiled and made the crazy sign by the side of her head. I have never seen such a public display of stupidity...I was shocked.

I took the 11th day off...I did go to target and for the second day in a row there I did a good deed. Some lady magically knocked over two wrapping paper holders and then looked at them like they were possessed. I helped her pick them up but they wouldn't stay standing...after two failed attempts we held on and then made sure no one was around and we let go and quickly walked away!
The day before target ran out of carts...who knew that could happen...they should quit letting homeless people walk away with them. As I was leaving these two elderly women were looking for a cart, but there weren't any except for the motorized one, I could tell they were distraught so I offered them my cart!! Looks like someone is about to get off the bus to hell!!

12 Days
Today was the day I was going to sleep in, well that didn't happen. Howdy felt the need to drop off the Cosby's at 3 AM and then again at 6:30 AM...doesn't he know that it is Saturday and momma needs her beauty rest!!! When I finally decided to drag my butt out of bed, it was around 9 and breakfast and coffee were calling my name. Once I ate, I cleaned myself...in the bath..threw on a little makeup, pulled my hair back...yep didn't even brush it...that's how awesome I am...and started on my errand running. I made it to Michael's and left without owing them my first born...they would be waiting awhile for payment...thank goodness it was less...then I realized I forgot my secret santa wish list at home, so I had to go back to the house, which screwed up my plan of attack with my errands. I like to plan out where to go so it makes sense and then I wind up close to home at the end...that didn't really happen today...the plan was screwed...good thing I'm flexible!!
I got my secret santa list and headed to Lowe's and as soon as I walk in I walk into an old man's smelly fart....I almost passed out and I almost told him he needed to check his pants...whew it was AWFUL!!! I feel like I could be a Lowe's associate if this whole teaching thing doesn't work out because I know where almost everything is in the store, which is scary considering I'm not really a person that you would associate with Lowe's. My purchases including a staple gun...yes I'm a proud owner of a gun, all my coworkers can calm down now because I am protected...staples, window screening, S hooks, caution tape and 2 clamps...probably the most random purchases EVER. Upon checking out, the cashier who happened to be about 65 but looked around 67 didn't know how to ring up the caution tape, which had not 1, BUT 3 freaking barcodes...I wanted to yell at her..."JUST PICK ONE, THEY ARE ALL THE SAME!!" she almost reached to call someone, but at the last minute reached for the scanner and scanned one of those lovely barcodes and guess what?!?! it rang up!! What a miracle. When she had finished ringing everything up, and I had slid my card through the machine, she asked to see it because she needed the last 4 numbers. In case you were wondering, Tuesday is the last day Lowe's will be asking to see your card because they are switching to a new system AND you won't have to sign for purchases less than $25...told you I could be an associate...I wonder if I could pick up some HOT SINGLE contractor...sign me up!!!
From Lowe's I went to B&N and stayed too long, but I did donate a book to a child in need. I then headed to the mall. The whole time I was driving there from B&N, a whole 5 minutes, I worried who all I would run into that I knew...I considered buying a ski mask and walking in so maybe no one would recognize me, but at the last minute I changed my mind...good thing because that might have not worked out so well. I managed to get in and out of the mall without running into anyone I knew...today was my lucky day, with the exception of the smelly fart and my trash still sitting on my curb.
I then headed to walmart and that is always an adventure. The highlight was buying peppermint mocha creamer and a stupid christmas tshirt that I'm going to turn into my tacky christmas sweater. I also bought some nonperishable food items for our food drive at school...I'm going to win at least one contest dadgumit or at least put forth my best effort.
Once I finally got home, I put on my christmas music and worked on my crafts/gifts. I'm surprised my arm is functional because I painted like noone's business. I've decided it's a great stress reliever. I even put up my christmas tree, but have not even decorated it yet, and not sure if I'm going to because I kind of like looking at it folded up and crooked...I think it represents my life...
